  • Todd Storch, Founder of Taylor's Gift and Chairman Emeritus

    Todd has over 25 years of business management and consulting experience in bringing digital and interactive initiatives to fruition through leadership, strategic alliances, processes, and technologies in industries such as media and entertainment. Todd has held roles as CEO of Kindrid, Co-Founder and President of Taylor’s Gift, and senior consulting roles at The Center for Sales Strategy. He began his career in accounting at Arthur Andersen. Todd holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Texas A&M. He served as co-founder and President of Taylor’s Gift Foundation until 2014, building an award winning 501c3 non-profit focused on organ donation. His additional volunteer work also includes advisory board positions for the Smart City and Coppell Arts Center Foundation where he serves in Executive leadership roles.

  • Tara Storch, Co-Founder, Taylor's Gift Foundation

    Tara is Co-Founder of Taylor’s Gift Foundation. Her passion for helping donor families in their grief came from her family’s personal experience. She has been involved in of many organ donation-focused organizations such as being on the UNOS Philanthropy Advisory Council (UPAC), Advisory Board with Southwest Transplant Alliance, and a Real Life Expert with Donate Life Hollywood. She is also a former board member of the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) Board.

    Her experience as a donor mother and leadership expert in marketing and non-profit is regularly sought out by many in the business and medical community to speak at their events.

    Tara is a mom of three, Taylor, Ryan and Peyton. She and her husband, Todd live in the Dallas area.

    She is extremely proud of all the support being given to donor families in Taylor’s name.

  • Scott Bennett, Associate Vice President of Solid Organ Transplant at UT Southwestern Medical Center

    Scott Bennett is the Associate Vice President of Solid Organ Transplant at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His career spans over 20 years in academic medicine and includes prior roles as Administrative Director and Finance Manager of the Solid Organ Transplant and Cardiovascular Service Lines at UT Southwestern. Scott currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Texas Transplantation Society and Taylor’s Gift Foundation. He holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University.

    Scott has seen the remarkable impact of the gift of life for transplant recipients in over 13 years as a transplant program administrator. Recognition and support for the unique needs of the heroic donor families who make each miracle possible is a noble goal and a personal ambition driving Scott’s desire to further the mission of Taylor’s Gift.

  • Javier Espinosa de los Reyes. Liver Transplant recipient & Co-Director at Tavistock Investment Group.

    In early 2007 Javier was a senior at Southern Methodist University when he suffered from a sudden liver failure. Within a week of his diagnosis, he received a transplant at The Liver Institute at Methodist Dallas. His outlook in life was forever changed through a renewed perspective given by the ultimate gift of life.

    From his startup in early-stage video streaming, he produced content and video platforms for Match, Puma, and Vans, which propelled him into the space of brand development. During the past fourteen years, Javier has worked directly with a large variety of sports-and-lifestyle brands, such as Sperry, Saucony, Stance, Alpinestars, TYR, & New Balance. Other current ventures Javier is involved in include: Lake Nona, a master-planned city of the future with wellness at its core, Display Source Alliance, the leading pay-point merchandising solutions manufacturer in the US, and leAD a sports & health technology accelerator.

  • Myrna Garcia, Donation Consultant, Donor Alliance, Inc.

    Myrna Garcia has been with Donor Alliance in the beautiful State of Colorado as a Family Support Coordinator for over 20 years. During her career, she has worked with hundreds of donor families, walking with them through the pathways of organ and tissue donation. Myrna was with the Storch family in 2010 as they made the decision to donate Taylor’s organs and had a very special role in the Storch’s journey.

    Currently she is a Donation Consultant, collaborating with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and operating room staff to support the donation process at several major hospitals in the Denver area.

    A first generation American, Myrna received a BA in Spanish from Metropolitan University of Denver. Her early experience working with Justice Information Center, Inc. as a Spanish interpreter/translator in medical and courtroom settings set the stage for her passion with working with non-profits and assisting others in times of crisis. She has also served as a volunteer Victim Advocate with her local police department, assisting law enforcement with members of the community who have suffered injury and loss.

    She currently resides in the town of Parker with her husband, three children, and many, many pets.

  • Elizabeth Hughes, PhD, TGF Grief Support Program Co-Founder & Chief Science Officer

    Dr. Elizabeth Hughes is a clinical psychologist in Dallas, Texas. After receiving her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 1994 she continued her training at Children’s Medical Center Dallas as a staff psychologist. While there she served as a consult liaison for the renal transplant team.

    Throughout her career, she’s worked with individuals who struggle with chronic medical illness, eating disorders, emotional trauma, anxiety, and depression.

    In 2019 she began working as a Family Care Coordinator for Southwest Transplant Alliance. In her work supporting families through the donation process, she discovered that grief support resources are limited for those left behind to honor and grieve their loved ones.

    In 2021, she and Tara Storch, co-founder of Taylor's Gift Foundation, developed and launched the Taylor’s Gift Grief Support Program to ensure that no donor family ever grieves alone.

    To further evaluate both the needs of donor families and the effectiveness of the current grief support program, Dr. Hughes has worked collaboratively with NYU Langone Health for 2+ years to assess how to best serve those who are grieving following organ and tissue donation.

  • Cathy Peyton, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Indigo Workplace Communication, Treasurer for Taylor's Gift

    Cathy Peyton is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Indigo Workplace Communication. As the Chairperson of the company's Board of Directors, she brings more than 30 years of diverse business, financial, and consulting experience. She oversees all corporate operations, including strategic planning, global finance, technology, talent development, and growth strategy.

    Cathy has a passion for helping others and is a strong advocate for Taylor’s Gift. She has served as an instructor for Junior Achievement, a mentor for business students at the University of North Texas, and received Board Member of the Year from Big Brothers & Sisters of Denton County for whom she served as President and Treasurer. Previous boards include Young Men's Service League and Coppell Baseball Association.

    A native Texan, Cathy has a BBA from the University of Texas at Arlington, is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and is a self-professed foodie. She loves spending time with family and sons, Triston and Tanner.

  • Mike Pierce, Vice President, Lockton

    Mike and his family have been directly impacted by organ donation and transplant. As such, he’s a passionate advocate for the cause and believes deeply in supporting anyone touched by organ donation and transplant.

    Mike resides in Dallas with his family and is a leader at the commercial insurance brokerage Lockton. He also serves as a volunteer leader with DallasHR and volunteers at Highland Park United Methodist Church.

    In his leisure, you’ll find Mike cycling at White Rock Lake or grabbing a cup of coffee at one of Dallas’ coffee shops with his wife and son.

  • Dana Pray, Principal, P&C Recruiting

    Dana became a donor mom in January 2017 when her son, Jeston, had a fall in Plano, TX.

    Dana and Tara met shortly after and found that the mission of Taylor’s Gift matched closely with her own passion for helping those managing grief following a sudden tragedy.

    Dana served on the Taylor’s Gift Advisory Board for three years. She also serves on NYU Langone Health Transplant Institute Advisory Board and the Elko County, Nevada Boys & Girls Club Board.

    The Pray Family runs the P4L Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports youth in the community as well as transplant donor and recipient families in need.

  • Steve Smith, CEO, Firehouse Agency

    Steve is the Chief Executive Officer and co-owner of Firehouse, an independent advertising agency in Dallas with clients that include Toyota, Lennox, Mary Kay and the Dallas Zoo.

    Firehouse is committed to using ideas and creativity to make an impact locally. Whether donating time to pro-bono clients, serving on non-profit boards, or volunteering in the DFW community, the agency donates over 2500 staff hours annually.

    While Steve and his wife Kim have been residents of Coppell for over 20 years, Steve was first introduced to Taylor's Gift Foundation when Todd and Tara Storch visited the agency. Compelled by their story and commitment to making a positive impact in the world of organ donation, both Steve and Firehouse pledged their support.

    Firehouse has been a partner of Taylor's Gift, providing marketing support for over a decade. Steve joined the Board of Directors in 2016 and has previously served as Board Chair.

Members of the Taylor’s Gift Foundation Board of Directors serve an essential role in empowering Taylor’s Gift to fulfill its mission. The commitment of our board includes, but is not limited to:

  • Commitment to the cause and the organization

  • Being knowledgeable about all facets of Taylor’s Gift Foundation

  • Compliance with the fiduciary requirements of Directors

  • Understanding the primary corporate documents (bylaws, financial reports, etc.)
