A Beautiful Day to Golf
Blue skies and sunshine-the perfect pairing for the Fourth Annual Taylor’s Gift Golf Tournament. With one hundred golfers, dozens of helpful volunteers, and generous sponsors it was a wonderful turnout! Add in a way to help support a great cause, and it could not have been a better day. A big thank you goes out to Crossroads Diner for their platinum sponsorship!
A big thanks to J.Macklin’s Grill & Macklin’s Catering Co. who provided both breakfast and lunch on the big day. Kicking off the day with a breakfast tacos and a short presentation, Founder Todd Storch set an intention for the tournament. Golfers were invited to watch a short video in hopes of better understanding the work behind Taylor’s Gift Foundation. The gathering gave everyone an opportunity to pause, take a moment, and soak in the bigger purpose that each individual contributed to that day, just by being there.
A Fun Filled Day for a Great Cause
Teams jumped in their carts, and hit the green for hours of golf filled fun. Once out on the course, several players nearly won the choice of a Crest Cadillac or Infinity by sinking a hole in one. Inches have never been so unforgiving. As players enjoyed the leisurely course, Gloria Elguea Photography caught up with teams to capture action shots and take team photos with the Taylor’s Gift box.
The sun was a bit warm come mid afternoon, and luckily the Sunbelt Rentals Snack Cart was frequently nearby, offering treats and Frost Bank sponsored water. Taylor’s Gift signs were placed around the green both reminding players of the day’s purpose, and thanking sponsors for their generous contributions to make the day possible. While the golfers were on the course, the volunteers were busy making sure everything was going without a hitch. It is clearly our volunteers who make us so very successful and pull off a great event making us look so very good!
We were glad to see that many of Bennett Ratliff for State Representative sand trap stamps were still completely intact on many holes at the end of the day.
As the early afternoon approached, hungry golfers poured in eager to fill their plates with tender meat, fresh salsas, and all the festive fixin’s on the “Build Your Own Street Taco” bar, a fabulous feast provided by J.Macklin’s Grill & Macklin’s Catering Co.
All in all, it was a great day!
Prizes provided by ZenZero and Grainger were awarded to first, second and third place teams, along with longest drive and closest to the pin. The Colony TopGolf must have sent their best players that day, as they took home first place!
It was great to have George Dunham of 1310 Sports Radio, 1310 The Ticket come hang out with the players, and even lead the live auction!
A big thanks to all of our sponsors & volunteers who made this special day possible!
